Reset SFTP Password in Scout

Last updated by Ashley Cawley on October 25, 2023 15:58

00:00: In just a few simple steps, you'll be able to reset your SFTP password to ensure the security of your account, or be able to share them with a trusted developer.

00:09: After logging in at cloudabove.com and opening your Scout control panel you will see your Sites listed like this.

00:16: Click on the Settings cog beside the site you wish to manage.

00:20: On the left hand side you will find a Password section, with a "Change" button, click that.

00:25: It will jump you to the relevant section where you will see a "Reset password" button. Click on that button.

00:31: Scout will automatically issue you a new secure password. To the right of the password you will see a small Copy icon, click on that to copy the new password to your Clipboard. Now would be a good time to store that password somewhere safe like in a Password Manager, or share the password with a trusted developer who will be managing the site.

00:50: In the top left corner you will find the Username which goes with the new password, as well as the Server's IP address and SFTP Port, all of which will be useful for developers to know.

01:00: The Scout platform was handcrafted with love by the cloudabove team in Cornwall. If you have any feedback or suggestions then we would love to hear from you.
