Providing File Access (SFTP) to Developers on Scout

Last updated by Ashley Cawley on February 07, 2024 10:39

If you need to provide a Developer with access to Site files for a single website then this is easy to do in Scout.

  1. Login to your cloudabove portal and then select Scout Control Panel from the menu.
  2. Click the Settings cog beside the Site you wish to provide access to.
  3. Take note of the Overview panel on the left-hand side, that area contains all of the information will need to hand over to the developer. It looks like this:

Take note of the following information that you will need from your Scout control panel:
    1. IP address
    2. SFTP Port
    3. Username
  4. The last piece will be the Password, click on the 'Change' link and it will take you to a page with a Password Management section, click on Reset Password and it will give you a new password. Do not worry, this change will not affect the functioning of the website.

At this point you should have all of the information you need to hand-over to the Developer who wishes to work with this website, we would recommend laying out the information like this in an email to them:

Protocol: SFTP
Port: 2223
IP Address: 185.219.236.47
Username: poldice
Password: LUcbG57zm

You can use free software like FileZilla or WinSCP to connect to the server using this information.
