Windows 10 Microsoft Outlook sending issues

Last updated by Steven Nicholas on January 31, 2024 16:22

Since the release of Windows 10 back in July 2015 we have been dealing with Microsoft Outlook issues almost on a daily basis. This is a bug with Microsoft Outlook at not a problem with your email hosting, fixing problems with software on your computer is usually beyond our remit however in this case we are happy to offer the fix below.

Whatever the error message may be, the underlying issue is with outbound messages and Microsoft have yet to rectify this. The error codes are vast and the symptoms vary, however the outcome is still the same...you are unable to send email.

We have had clients using brand new computers with a fresh install of Microsoft Office that still experience this issue. However there is a solution.

  1. Close any Microsoft Office programs you have open such as Outlook, Word etc.
  2. Search “CMD” in the Start menu, right click “CMD” or “Command Prompt” and select Run as Administrator.
  3. In the command prompt, type “sfc /scannow” (without the speechmarks).

After running the SFC command, windows will scan your entire hard drive to fix the system file issues, this can take some time.

Once the scan is complete, please reboot your computer and try sending emails again. If your issue has not been resolved, please contact us via email or telephone.
